The Federal Prize for Art Students aims to show the diversity of training and artistic positions at German art universities. It specifically promotes outstanding students and enables them to gain professional exhibition experience, to show their work to a broader public and to establish contacts in the art world.
A catalog is published for each competition that documents the artistic work of the award winners. The catalog and other competition media will be designed by one of the participating art schools. At the 24th national competition, Janusch Lorenz and Andreas Weltner from the class for graphic design / communication design at the Academy of Fine Arts in Nuremberg took on the design. The special feature this year is that each of the seven winners is represented in an individual catalog with pictures, videos and texts. The catalog has been expanded to include a virtual level to show the artists' video works. The publications are held together by a textile band.
The Bundeskunsthalle in Bonn will show the award winners' exhibition until January 5th. The catalog can be purchased in the bookstore Walther König (in the Bundeskunsthalle, Helmut-Kohl-Allee 4, 53113 Bonn) until the end of the exhibition. The publication can also be ordered from the Deutsches Studentenwerk after the exhibition has ended.
